Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter (or margarine)
  • 1/3 cup flour (all-purpose)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or ground white)
  • 1 can NESTLÉ CARNATION Evaporated Milk (12 fl. oz.)
  • 3/4 cup water

Directions

Melt butter in small saucepan. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add evaporated milk and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes just to a boil. Recipe makes 3 cups.
