Remoulade Sauce

Easy and tasty remoulade sauce that only takes a few minutes to throw together. A must if you're making fried green tomatoes.

I've made sauce #1 below but added sauce #2 when I came across it.

Ingredients

Sauce #1

  •     1/2 cup mayonnaise, such as Duke’s
  •     2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  •     1 medium scallion, finely chopped (optional)
  •     1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley leaves
  •     1 tablespoon whole-grain or Creole mustard
  •     1/2 teaspoon paprika
  •     1/2 teaspoon hot sauce, such as Louisiana or Tabasco
  •     1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  •     1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  •     Pinch cayenne pepper

Sauce #2 (source)

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp dill pickle relish
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp hot sauce
  • 2 tsp capers, roughly chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Creole or Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Directions

Whisk all of the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl until combined. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
